Wild Animals - Flamingos

What are flamingos?
Flamingos are bright pink birds that wade in water. They very often stand on one leg, the other tucked under the body. There are six species of flamingos known to humans.

What do they eat?
Flamingos eat pink shrimps, which give them their pink colour. Some also eat blue-green algae; these flamingos are noticeably darker.

Their behaviour.
They are very social birds and they live in very large groups. They go in breeding groups of about 40, and when they are paired up, they sometimes change mates.
