Wild Animals - Tigers

What are tigers?
Tigers are mammals that are endangered and live in forests in Asia. They have a very distinctive pattern: orange and black stripes. They can grow to a length of 3.38 metres long!

What do they eat?
Tigers are carnivores, which means they eat meat. They tend to eat deer, buffalo, wild boar, leopards, dogs, and pythons.

Their behaviour.
Grown up tigers enjoy living apart from each other. Tigers have a lot more space to live,while tigresses have considerably less. Tigers mark their territory by peeing on a tree!

Pets - Cats

What are cats?
Cats are pets that are domesticated. They are usually furry though some have no hair at all. They can hear sounds that humans can't, like a mouse. They also have a much better sense of smell than humans, but we can see colour much better.

What do they eat?
Cats are carnivorous animals. They eat specially bought food from the pet shop.

Their behaviour.
They are very active in the day ad night, though more at night.  They tend to wander away form the house but do not worry; they will come back. They use different sounds to communicate with other cats: purring, mewing, and growling.

Wild Animals - Flamingos

What are flamingos?
Flamingos are bright pink birds that wade in water. They very often stand on one leg, the other tucked under the body. There are six species of flamingos known to humans.

What do they eat?
Flamingos eat pink shrimps, which give them their pink colour. Some also eat blue-green algae; these flamingos are noticeably darker.

Their behaviour.
They are very social birds and they live in very large groups. They go in breeding groups of about 40, and when they are paired up, they sometimes change mates.

Pets - Goldfish

What are goldfish?
A goldfish is a domesticated fish that originated in China. Even though they are called goldfish, their colours include: white, yellow, orange, brown, red and black.

What do they eat?
In the wild, a goldfish's diet consists of insects and various plants. They dont know when to stop eating! If you are keeping them as pets, then you can buy special food from the pet shop.

Their behaviour.
Goldfish very rarely fight another of their kind, and males hardly ever hurt a female during breeding. When they do fight, they will be fighting over food.

Wild Animals - Peacocks

What are peacocks?
Peacocks are amazing birds that are very colorful. Males are peacocks, females are peahens, and babies are peachicks.

What do they eat?
They eat plant parts, flower petals, seed heads, reptiles, insects and amphibians.

Their behaviour.
They nest on the ground and roost in trees. Peafowls sometimes have two husbands (the peacocks).
